The top edge retains its original gold tint. There is a neat owners name and date to the rear of the front board. There is some fraying to the join between the rear back board and the rear end paper but no impact on the binding. The end papers and pages are free from marks. In very good condition, the binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine and motif on the front board are bright. The photograph Zam-Zammah is fully protected by an in-tact tissue paper and the book is illustrated throughout with black and white photographs. With no reference to previous printings this is the very first edition of Kim.
